About FindOutAboutDogs.com

Hi, I’m Thomas Cutter — and if you’ve ever sat on the floor at midnight Googling “why is my dog doing this,” you already know exactly why I built this site.

I’ve been a dog owner for over a decade. I know what it feels like to bring home a puppy for the first time and have absolutely no idea what you’re doing. I know the panic of a sick dog at 2am. I know the joy of finding the perfect toy that keeps your dog busy for hours. And I know how exhausting it is to sort through hundreds of websites trying to find advice you can actually trust.

That’s why FindOutAboutDogs.com exists.

Our Mission

FindOutAboutDogs.com is built for real dog owners — people who love their dogs and want straightforward, honest information without wading through fluff, filler, or vague advice.

Every article on this site has one job: give you the information you need to make a better decision for your dog. Whether that’s choosing the right food, picking the right bed, training a stubborn puppy, or figuring out if that weird symptom needs a vet visit.

We cover everything from dog breeds and puppy care to nutrition, grooming, training, and honest product reviews. And when we recommend a product, it’s because we genuinely believe it’s the best option for your dog — not because it’s the most expensive or the most advertised.

Who Is Thomas Cutter?

I’m a lifelong dog lover based in the United States. My first dog was a Beagle named Scout who I got when I was twelve years old. Since then, dogs have never left my life — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Over the years I’ve owned and cared for multiple breeds. I’ve done obedience training, dealt with separation anxiety, managed food allergies, and spent more money on dog beds than I’d like to admit before finally finding ones that actually last.

I started FindOutAboutDogs.com because I got tired of finding articles written by people who clearly had never owned a dog in their life. Generic advice. Recycled information. Affiliate links to products that nobody actually uses.

This site is different. Everything I write comes from real experience as a dog owner. When I say a product is good, it’s because I’ve researched it thoroughly, read hundreds of real owner reviews, and compared it against the alternatives.

What We Cover

  • Dog Food and Nutrition — We review dry food, wet food, raw food, and treats across every life stage and breed size. We also cover what dogs can and cannot eat safely because that question comes up more than you’d think at 2am.
  • Dog Grooming — From shampoos and brushes to nail clippers and grooming clippers, we cover everything you need to keep your dog looking and feeling their best at home.
  • Dog Toys — We review chew toys, puzzle toys, interactive toys, fetch toys, and everything in between. We focus on durability, safety, and whether dogs actually like them.
  • Dog Accessories — Leashes, harnesses, collars, crates, beds, GPS trackers, car seats, and more. We break down exactly what to look for and which ones are worth your money.
  • Dog Breeds — Detailed profiles of the most popular and interesting breeds. We cover temperament, exercise needs, grooming requirements, health issues, and whether a breed is right for your lifestyle.
  • Dog Care and Training — Practical guides for everyday dog ownership. Potty training, crate training, leash training, dealing with common behavior problems, and keeping your dog healthy long term.

How We Choose Products

When we review dog products, we follow a simple process.

We start with real owner feedback. We read hundreds of Amazon reviews, forum discussions, and owner reports to understand what real people experience with a product over months and years — not just after the first week.

We look at ingredients and materials. For food, we dig into ingredient lists, protein sources, and nutritional profiles. For physical products, we look at materials, durability, and safety.

We compare across price points. We always include budget options, mid-range picks, and premium choices because not every dog owner has the same budget, and a $30 option can sometimes outperform a $100 one.

We update our reviews regularly. Dog products change. Formulas get updated, quality goes up or down, and better options appear. We revisit our top picks and update them when needed.

Our Commitment to Honesty

FindOutAboutDogs.com participates in the Amazon Associates Program and other affiliate programs. This means we may earn a small commission when you purchase a product through our links, at no extra cost to you.

This never influences our recommendations. We only recommend products we genuinely believe are good choices for dog owners. If a product has problems, we say so. If a cheaper alternative is just as good, we say that too.

We believe you deserve honest advice — not a site that recommends whatever pays the highest commission.

A Note on Health Information

FindOutAboutDogs.com provides general dog care information and education. We are not veterinarians. Nothing on this site should replace professional veterinary advice for your specific dog.

If your dog is unwell, always consult a licensed veterinarian. We strongly encourage all dog owners to maintain a regular relationship with a vet they trust.
